Wow, Chris and Randy Scott passing this year! Coincidentally I was thinking about Chris two days ago while playing pickleball at the George Ball tennis courts in Glen Ellyn. Chris, Randy, and a big crew of us would hang out at a tree fort in the Churchill forest preserve there and...well... let's just say that some things are best left to the fog of history. RIP, Chris.
Recalling a hot summer day when Chris and I paddled a canoe on the DuPage river from Churchill FP up past Army Trail Rd. and back. It was kind of hilarious, but a ton of fun. Another time he and I had snuck out one cold November night and were exploring Churchill FP when we found an abandoned, unlocked Airstream RV. Our rag tag crew used that thing as a hangout for a few months during that winter. Then there was the time...
I remember Chris from Forest Glen in 6th grade and he was answering a question from Mr. Haligas. All of a sudden, he started gagging and then ducked his head under his desk...and released about 10 Flair markers on the tile floor. The noise was familiar, but the janitors weren't needed for clean up. Chris sat up and continued as if nothing had happened...and made everyone think...had something happened?!
