OBITUARY

Fred Voss Jr., 64, of Huntley IL, passed away on August 10, 2023. Born in Chicago Illinois, on December 6, 1958, to parent’s Fredrick and Louise (Rathnow) Voss. Fred and his soulmate Elizabeth Devereaux joined in marriage in 1996, the couple shared many happy memories and years together. Fred was a loving husband, father and uncle. He absolutely adored his family. Fred’s happiest day was when he became a father. Fred loved to do any activity that included bonding time with his son Roman. He took Roman’s friends go-cart racing, on vacation with us and he loved that he got to know his sons’ friends. Not only was Fred a dedicated family man but he was also a devoted friend to many. He enjoyed talking politics and sports. He could whip out any statistic of any player or sports team at any moment. Fred loved his Chicago sports teams; he would try to make every game possible, and he would be on and off the phone with close friends as they watched the games on TV. He enjoyed many good times being at games with family and friends. He went to all his son’s soccer and hockey games. He also loved car racing often going with his son and friends. He also led an active lifestyle until his heart condition worsened. He used to compete heavily in dirt bike competitions and has even won multiple state championships. Those who knew Fred will miss him deeply.

Fred is survived by his beloved wife Elizabeth Devereaux-Voss, his son Roman Voss, bother in-laws, sister in-laws, many cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Fred is proceeded in death by his parent’s Fredrick and Louise (Rathnow) Voss.
